Welcome to my world
Hope you enjoy the journey
Many years ago when I was being my usual self, my sister Jean made a comment that prompted this site. "Kathryn," she said, "you know how some people have medic alert bracelets that say diabetic, epileptic or some other condition?"
"Well," she continued, "I am going to buy you one inscribed 'She's Always Been Like This.'
That way, when you are wandering around aimlessly, people will understand why."
While she was kidding me about my typical distracted behavior, the comment stuck in my mind. "It is true," I thought, "I HAVE always been like this."
There is within all of us a core, eternal being. Whether we call this our soul, our ego, our personality or just call it "me", this being has always been and will always be.
And I have come to believe that our true and only purpose is to become who we have always been.
Somewhere along the path of life, many, if not most of us, have misplaced the core of our true selves. But it lies within us. And there comes a time in life when it longs to be released.
This longing often comes to a head around mid-life, although earlier for some of us and later for others. We discover that it is just too painful to be who we are not. But, most of us are virtually uncertain as to who we are. Thus follows what has come to be known as the "mid-life crisis". What do we do when we know who we are NOT but we do not know who we are?
How do we solve this seeming paradox? That is the purpose of the site. Through seminars, groups meetings, reading, laughter and fun, we will sort through what we are not to discover the core of who we have always been and always will be.
This journey can last an hour, a life time or many life times. But don't worry. You have all the time in the cosmos.
Welcome to my world.
Enjoy!
Kathryn

All Who Wander Are Not Lost

Rachel Naomi Remen
Healing may not be so much about getting better, as about letting go of everything that isn't you---all of the expectations, all of the beliefs---and becoming who you are.
Maya Angelou
Take a day to heal from the lies you've told yourself and the ones that have been told to you.
Albert Einstein
There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.
E.E. Cummings
To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.
Anna Quindlen
The thing that is really hard, and really amazing, is giving up on being perfect and beginning the work of becoming yourself.
Buddha
When you realize how perfect everything is you will tilt your head back and laugh at the sky.
Hafiz
A Suspended Blue Ocean
The sky
Is a suspended blue ocean.
The stars are the fish
That swim.
The planets are the white whales
I sometimes hitch a ride on
And the sun and all light
Have forever fused themselves
Into my heart and upon
My skin.
There is only one rule
On this Wild Playground
For every sign Hafiz has ever seen
Reads the same.
They all say,
"Have fun, my dear; my dear, have fun,
In the Beloved's Divine
Game, O, in the Beloved's
Wonderful Game."
